Now that you've got your new puppies make sure they wear tags with contact information on them. Dog collars are both functional and fashionable solutions. You attach a leash to a collar and tags are held there so that your dog can be identified in the event the dog runs away or is lost.

For some, dog collars are fashion accessories. You can find "bling" on fashion collars made of chrome and resemble diamonds or spikes. Of course, if you have the budget of Paris Hilton or Nicole Richie, you will want real diamonds!

For more pragmatic dog collars look for materials like leather or nylon. Also, be sure to ask the sales person what size will best fit your pooch. If your dog is still growing, make sure you get a collar that will accommodate the extra weight around his neck.
